Testimonies From Previous Residents

From Sam

“In 2020 I went through a time of struggle when I was 4 months pregnant, in which I had lost my place of residence. I had no family in the state of Florida and resources were slim to none. I found the Visitation House through some close friends of mine. I submitted my application and was accepted. I moved in within a few days. I established a bank account and began to save money, took budgeting classes that were offered by their volunteers, and acquired many clothes, bottles, diapers, etc. for my unborn baby. After months of saving $ and with the unwavering support of Visitation House I was also able to gain stability and find a home of my own for me and my family. I became close with my house mother and ALL the other members of the board. They believed in me, made me feel safe, and helped me grow in many ways. I now volunteer my time there to continue to provide aid for helping other pregnant women in crisis.

The above is just a small description of my experience at the Visitation House. They continue to have a special place in my heart. I have made lifelong friendships with the strong independent women of the board, or what I like to call FAMILY. Miracles are born every day at Visitation House. Please help to continue these miracles by donating to the cause.”

With Love From Nedaya

“Coming into the Visitation House I was nervous and confused about what is really my purpose.  I knew I wanted to be the best mother for my son. But I also had a lot to work on to prepare myself for him.  Adjusting to a big change was very new and challenging but I’m very thankful that all the women in my life kept me very busy, I had no choice but to stay focused to try and meet my goals.  The women here have been so good to me and treat me like family.  I honestly wouldn’t know where I would be if they never took a chance on me and if I didn’t believe in myself, with the help of Mrs. Kiki of course.  But I am writing this to say thank you to everyone who’s a part of this foundation. The help, love, and respect that is shown go a really long way and this is my testimony that anything you put your mind to is possible.  I’m a first-time mother who was scared, and afraid of failing and since being at Visitation House I got the help that I need, the love I always wanted and the knowledge to take care of my son properly. Being responsible and being here helped me mature.  I am very thankful, thank you all for believing in me and taking a chance with me.  Now as I move on my heart is purer.  I put my priorities first.  I’m confident and no longer looking back on yesterday.  I will continue to stay on the right track and be the best mother I can be.”
